Southern Transylvania Tourism

From Bucharest (or Otopeni Airport), head north toward Brasov. Stop at the mountain resort of Sinaia to visit Peles Castle and Pelisor Castle. (Note: Peles and Pelisor castles are closed on Monday and Tuesday.) Continue to Brasov for a stroll around its medieval section. Highlights include: Black Church, The Old Town-Hall Square, Brasov Fortress, Franciscan Monastery. Overnight in Brasov. The nearby mountain resorts of Predeal or Poiana Brasov have great hotels, which are less expensive than those in Brasov.

Morning sightseeing & shopping in Brasov. Head to Bran (via Rasnov), 17 miles southwest of Brasov. Visit Bran (Dracula’s) Castle. (Note: Bran Castle is closed on Monday.) If traveling by car (and time allows) see first the fortified churches at nearby Harman and Prejmer than drive to Bran and than to Bucharest via Paraul Rece - Predeal - Sinaia. Spend the rest of the afternoon strolling along Calea Victoriei (from Piata Victoriei to Splaiul Independentei) and end the evening at Count Dracula Club (dinner).
